There is so much rhetoric around the money cost and earned by road accidents the world over that I hesitate comment on this … tragic aspect of Thai life. Each year it’s estimated that 200,000 motorbike related deaths will occur in “The Land of Smiles.”

One expat stated that the number of males who die each year is a major contributor to why Thai women are desperate to marry old, fat, often morally questionable foreign men. At least “farangs” bring money and with it, a lessening of hardship for Thia women left with the responsibility of taking care of their children and their aging parents.
