Now that I’m essentially homeless and living out on the road again, I’ve decided to literally jump into the lifestyle. The first night to recall the old, “Driver’s Days,” I slept in my truck. But three nights later, I decided to practice some of the camping and bush craft skills I’ve been learning from YouTube videos. Since I brought my Bug-Out Bag with me, I decided to really rough it tonight and do some wilderness camping.

I found a really good spot in the Iowa fields. It was already cleared so I didn’t have to cut down any bush.

All those YouTube videos about how to survive the Zombie Apocalypse are over done. I didn’t need my sleeping bag after all.

I don’t think adapting to life on the road is going to be difficult at all. I could tell that others had used this creek before me… someone even left a few chairs..

Every now and then you luck up and “discover” a location where people are actually friendly and get along. Davenport, Iowa surprised me. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Davenport.
